Join a game: Other players enter this 4-character code to instantly connect to the same lobby.
Start the game: Once all players have successfully joined, the host can officially start the match.

Deal one by one: Cards are distributed individually, resulting in a completely randomized and fair distribution.
Deal in chunks: This mode simulates how cards are collected after a round and imperfectly shuffled in a real-life game. It leads to more cards of the same suit being grouped together.
Play up to... points: This setting sets the specific point threshold that triggers the end of the game.

The objective: Avoid winning tricks that contain penalty cards to keep your total score as low as possible.
Penalty points: Each Heart card is worth 1 penalty point, and the Queen of Spades is worth 13 penalty points.
Passing cards: At the start of most rounds, each player selects three cards to pass to an opponent.
The opening lead: The player holding the 2 of Clubs must play it to start the very first trick.
Following suit: Players must always play a card of the led suit if they have one in their hand.
Winning a trick: The highest card of the suit led wins the trick, as there are no trump suits.
Breaking hearts: Players cannot lead a Heart until a Heart or the Queen of Spades has been discarded.
Shooting the moon: If a player takes all 26 penalty points, they get 0 points while all opponents get 26 points.

Hearts is a classic card game enjoyed by players all over the world. Depending on where you live, the game goes by different names. In the Netherlands and Belgium, it is known as Hartenjagen. German players call it Herzeln, while in France and French-speaking countries it is named Dame de Pique or Cœurs.
